The purpose of this study is to show that several of great events described in the book of Revelation all occur at the same time. These events are described somewhat differently but the time element is the same. Together they give a complete picture of what God has appointed for the time of the end. The events described interlock perfectly, and precisely fulfill hundreds of Scriptures spoken by Jesus, the apostles, and prophets.

In the book of Revelation it was revealed to the apostle John how the pieces of prophecy fit together. Let us give very careful heed to the signs of this great time. May the Lord give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.

These great events will be listed here in a general way and then studied in more detail later. We will show that all these events occur during the great day of God’s wrath. (Revelation 6:16,17) The great day of the wrath of Him who sits on the throne and of the Lamb is spoken of throughout all the Scriptures.

The last great gospel call. Revelation 14:6-12.

The last great shaking. Haggai 2:6,7; Hebrews 12:25-29.

The blowing of the seven trumpets.  Revelation 7 through 11.

Reaping of the earth’s harvest and of her grapes.  Revelation 14:14.

The pouring out of the seven bowls of wrath. Revelation 15 &16.

The judgment of Babylon.  Revelation 17 & 18.

The binding of Satan, the 1000 years, and the loosing of Satan for the deceiving and gathering of the nations against the camp of the saints and the beloved city.

Their final destruction,   Revelation 20: 1-10.

The resurrection of all the dead and the final judgment at the great white throne. Revelation 20: 11

That all these Scriptures, and many more, describe events that will all take place during the same time will be staggering to those who have been taught otherwise. Most of the things described show different aspects of the same events. They each show part of the removal of the tares. The list includes Babylon, the beast, the false prophet, Satan, all who work lawlessness, and all their evil works, and then finally death and hell.

Many of the prophets spoke of this same end-time event and the same order of the removal of the wicked. For instance:

Proverbs 2:21,22 For the upright will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;  but the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

I believe the words of these parables apply to this present age.  The sons of the kingdom and the sons of the wicked one are still living together in the same world so we may be assured the end of this age has not yet come.

A careful look at Jesus’ plain words should cause us to carefully re-examine the popular teachings about the church being raptured out first, and thus leaving the unsaved behind.

In light of Jesus’ words,  I hope to bring a different approach to the study of the book of Revelation and other end-time prophecy.

This study will begin with a look at the entire parable of the wheat and the tares and Jesus’ explanation of it.  We will then see the same truth in the parable of the dragnet.  Jesus’ words are so clear in this matter there should be no argument about them.

Jesus, the apostles, and the prophets in the Old Testament all spoke of a special time of removal of the disobedient in the latter days.  The book of Revelation brings all this together and vividly describes the details of the destruction of all Jesus’ enemies.

The list of the tares to be removed includes Babylon, the kings of the earth and their armies, and all who practice lawlessness.  The dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, the beast, the false prophet, and death will be cast into the lake of fire.

The time of removal of the tares is called “the day of vengeance of our God” (Isaiah 61:2), or “the great day of His wrath” (Revelations 6:16,17). Their removal will be neither secret, nor silent, rather it will be open, loud and worldwide.  There will be a great shaking.  During the great day of His wrath, God will avenge the blood of all His saints and all the slain on the earth.  (Revelations 18:20,24)  The avenging of their blood will be the answer to the cry of “How long” made by the souls under the altar.  They were told to wait until the full number of those to be killed was completed. God’s promise is a guarantee that from that ‘until’ point of time not one more of the righteous will be killed; only the tares will perish. (Revelations 6:9-11)

Rather than being hurt or killed during this day of wrath all the saints will share with Jesus in bringing to pass the judgments written.  They will judge angels as well as the world in that day. (Revelations 2:26-27; 20:4; 1 Corinthians 6:2; Psalms 149:5-9)

Those baptized into Christ were baptized into His death Romans 6:3 speaks of the death and burial of our old man.  Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6:6 Being crucified with Him, and buried with Him gives us a spiritual release from the old life.  The old man refers to the old ways of thinking, talking, and manner of living.

Coming up out of the water signifies being raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 Born of the Spirit of God with new words, new thoughts and a new lifestyle bringing glory to God.

By ourselves we cannot possibly do this, but we are not left to our own strength.  With Jesus in our hearts and His word and the promised Holy Spirit to guide us we can do what would otherwise be impossible.   Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to comfort, teach, guide and strengthen us each step of the way.  John 14: 25, 26

For the rest of our life on earth it will be a step by step growing and learning experience in spiritual things.  It is His will that we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I Peter 3:18 No longer slaves of sin but servants of God.

Satan will try to cancel God’s work in the heart.  He will try to bring the new believer back into bondage and tell the that what has happened is just imagination and emotion.  Do not fall for his trap.  As we submit to God we can resist Satan and he will flee.

James 4: 7 Therefore submit to go. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
